Marty's Stew Shack

Marty's Stew Shack is a true hidden gem! I'm so glad we found this hole in the wall restaurant. I don't think I've had a cheeseburger that was as delicious since my grandmother was alive. It was cooked to perfection, and Marty's special sauce is **chef's kiss** It's a sweet mayo that adds just the extra flavor you didn't know you needed. The onion rings were the best I've ever had in my life. The only ones I've ever eaten where the onion actually stays inside the fried ring once you take a bite! My husband loved his burger so much that he had to order another to take with him! My daughter loved the fried chicken tenders. She ate the chicken and fries kids meal and then ordered additional chicken tenders . That never happens...she's picky and doesn't eat much! They have lots of other delicious items on the menu, but I'm certain I'd have to go back with another burger when I visit again. They also have an impressive list of icee flavors, ice-creams, and desserts. Marty's offers stew on certain days. I took a picture of the schedule for those interested. They offer beef stew, chicken stew, or goat stew, and it can be reserved ahead of time.. We enjoyed swinging under the covered patio even in this hot July heat. The bathrooms are separate from the actual restaurant, but they're so clean and spacious. It's the perfect setup. Marty's is a little known wonder that's off the beaten path, but it's definitely worth the drive! Try it. You won't be disappointed. You'll be planning your next trip to Anderson just like I am ;)

Definitely a down home type feel here. We were visiting my uncle in Rogersville and stopped in at the Stew shack as it was recommended by the AirB&B host Ellery as well as my cousin Amy Lee. I looove they have swings outside and plenty of seating.

Food and service at very reasonable prices. Outside seating had fans and swings.

Anytime I am near Anderson from Birmingham (Florence-Hometown-Brooks HS) I try to stop here for Marty’s Awesome cheeseburgers or I take a couple gallons of their delicious Chicken Stew or Chilli. Always friendly & helpful staff. Love the place!

Best food I've had in a while ! I was actually on a job here hooking up the Internet and they fed me..... boy am I glad they did this is now my lunch spot the strawberry shake is addicting
